GENE E. SAMPSON
Funeral Services for Gene E. Sampson, 83, of Chickasha, will be held 10:30 a.m.Tuesday, October 9, 2012, in the Calvary Baptist Church.
Gene E. Sampson was born September 26, 1929, in Norge, Oklahoma, the son of Clarence B. Sampson and Lula B. Priddle Sampson. He died on Tuesday, October 2, 2012.
Gene married his wife Dorothy in 1950, and it was the beginning of a loving relationship that spanned 62 wonderful years. A husband, father, and friend, Gene’s life was well lived with faith, integrity, strength and kindness.
Gene served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and worked many years as a pipeline welder across America, later establishing a cattle ranch in the Chickasha area that became a great love of his in retirement.
Gene was a longtime member of Calvary Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother.
Survivors include: wife, Dorothy Sampson, his children, Ken Sampson of Chickasha, Randall Sampson of Denver, Colorado, and Shelley Lacure of Jamestown, Ohio; siblings include: Marilyn Brown of Oklahoma City, Kathleen Canaday of Bloomfield, Nebraska, and Richard Sampson of Yukon; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Internment will be in the Pioneer Cemetery under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
