A graveside service for Garry Dean Newton, 74, of Chickasha, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 15, 2023 in Fairlawn Cemetery with Pastor Tommy Eastep officiating.
Garry Dean Newton was born January 4, 1949 in Flippin, Arkansas, the son of Oscar Lee Newton and Tola Mae (Butler) Newton. He passed from this life on Monday, February 13, 2023 in Chickasha, Oklahoma.
When he was young, Dean lived in Savanna, Oklahoma and in 1957 moved to Chickasha, graduating from Chickasha High School in 1968. He joined the United States Army for two years.
Dean married Glenda Jo Jones on April 16, 1972 and they were married until she got her wings.
He had worked for a horse trailer company, Pet Milk and most recently was a floor tech at Shanoan Springs Nursing Center.
On April 27, 2005, Dean married Karen Sue (Thomas) Newton.
He was preceded in death by both his parents, nine brothers, two sisters and a step-daughter.
Loved ones left to remember him are his wife Karen Newton and step-daughter Sherri Newton of the home; a special granddaughter Paige Helteel of Chickasha; three sisters Mae Delozier and Jenny Barrington of Ada and Sue Jones of Ninnekah; and other extended family and friends.
Services are under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
