A memorial service for Fred James Wilcox, 48, of Ninnekah, will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, February 16, 2024 in the Chickasha First Church.
Fred James Wilcox was born March 19, 1975 in Chickasha, Oklahoma to Fred Wayne Motes and Freida Marie (Self) Wilcox. He passed from this life on Friday, February 9, 2024 in Chickasha, Oklahoma.
Fred graduated from Arapaho High School in 1993. He later became a self-employed welder. He loved to race modified stock and E sprint cars. He was a great mechanic, but he could also work construction, do plumbing, and could fix about anything that was broken. Fred was known for being a ”Jack of all trades, handy man”, and at one time he even had his pilot’s license. Fred was an all-around great person, man of his word that was very authentic and would help out anybody. Fred was most known for his phrase, “When in doubt, throttle it out.”
He was preceded in death by his mother; grandparents Robert and Charlene Self; and aunt Myrna Self.
Loved ones left to remember him are his daughter Morgan Wilcox and fiancé Ryan McKinney both of Lawton; sons and daughter-in-law, Drake and Cecilia Goss of Chickasha and Keaton Wilcox of Lawton; fathers Fred Motes of Ninnekah and Robert Wilcox of Chickasha; brothers and sister-in-law Matt and Jade Wilcox of Ninnekah and David Motes of Oklahoma; sisters and brothers-in-law Trisha and Doug Proulx of Chickasha and Fredda and Clay Chism of Chickasha; grandchildren Rosilynn McKinney of Lawton and Brooklynn and Eva Goss of Chickasha; and other aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family and friends.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
