Franklin D. Cooper, 82, of Chickasha, passed away on Saturday, December 12, 2015. He was born July 15, 1933 in Marlow, Oklahoma to David Isaac Cooper and Mattie (Smith) Cooper.
Franklin graduated from Marlow High School in 1951. In September 1954 he joined the United States Army and served for three years. After returning home, he attended Central State University (UCO) in Edmond and received a teaching degree. Franklin then taught at various places, including Tulsa and New Mexico. Later he worked for Public Service of Oklahoma.
He was always active and conscious of his health; he enjoyed taking long walks daily. Franklin loved to read the Bible and visit with his family. He was always friendly and outgoing.
Franklin was preceded in death by both parents; one brother, Elmer Cooper; three sisters, Ruth Bolton, Jewel Sutton, and Glennace Bolton; nephew, Gerald Bolton, and a niece, Cheryl Thomas.
Survivors include a brother, Lloyd Cooper, of Marlow; nieces, Barbara Johnson of Loco, Carol Gunter and Donna Ousley of Marlow; a nephew, Ron Sutton of Loco; several great nieces and nephews; and other extended family and friends.
