A memorial service for Floyd Norman Frenzen, 87, of Chickasha, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, July 19, 2024 at the Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel, 804 W. Utah Ave, Chickasha, Oklahoma.

Floyd Norman Frenzen was born December 14, 1936 in Dale Township, Cottonwood County, Minnesota to Arthur Albert Frenzen and Pearl Blanche (Pope) Frenzen. He passed from this life on Thursday, July 11, 2024 at his home in Chickasha, Oklahoma.

Floyd grew up as a farm boy in rural Minnesota. He attended and graduated Jeffers High School near Windom, Minnesota. He then joined the United States Air Force, serving his country from May 1956 until May 1960.

On June 11, 1960, he married Lucy Morris and to this union his four children Pamela, Norma, Noreen and Norman were born.

Throughout his life he liked to build and tinker with mechanics, leading him into a career working in various fields of construction, which included welding, heavy equipment operating, and HVAC. He retired as an HVAC maintenance tech for the Pauls Valley State School.

As a young man, he was very athletic and ran track. He was mesmerized by flying and had a very clever mind with a wry sense of humor. He liked to ramble and lived in many places throughout his lifetime. He enjoyed nature and the simple things in life.

On March 26, 1986, he married Jimmie Ann (Morgan) Smith and that settled him down in Chickasha. They enjoyed attending plays, dancing and traveling together. He was a devoted animal lover. He was a member of Unity Church (Spiritual Life Center).

Floyd was preceded in death by both parents, an infant son Norman, daughter Norma Frenzen, his siblings Woodrow, Arthur, Serena, Helen, Adrian, and Donna, and his first wife Lucy Swapp.

Loved ones left to remember him are his wife Jimmie Smith of the home; daughters Pamela Frenzen of California and Noreen Clayton and husband Raymond of New Mexico; Jimmie’s children Roberta Hogner of Tulsa, James Smith and wife Tonya of Moore, and Jayne Boswell and husband Dusty of Edmond; grandchildren Tabytha Frenzen, Krystal Frenzen, Westly Clayton and wife Jessica, Amanda Clayton, Rebecca Diekelmann, Rachel Rodolph, Callie Gillette, Michelle Smith, Lindsey Gammon, Jerrod Gammon, Jayson Smith, and Sadie Boswell; several great-grandchildren; godchildren, Lim and Sylvia Ho and their family; friend and neighbor Nikki; and other extended family and friends.

Floyd’s cremains will be buried at the Frenzen Family Plot, Lakeview Cemetery in Windom, Minnesota later this fall.The service and cremation arrangements are under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
