Evelynn Michelle Reid

d. March 1, 2020

Funeral services for Evelynn Michelle Reid will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, March 9, 2020 at Bible Baptist Church with Mark Wallace officiating.

Our precious angel baby Evelynn Michelle Reid entered this world at UNC of Chapel Hill, North Carolina. She arrived at 11:13 p.m. on March 1, 2020 weighing a tiny 2 lbs. 4.5 oz. and measuring 15” long. She gained her wings 21 minutes later as her mommy and daddy held her close and loved her back into the arms of Jesus.

Evelynn is the beloved daughter of Shane Martin and Austyn Maranda Reid of Hubert, North Carolina. Many prayers were prayed over Evelynn as she fought to win the battle over Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia and Trisomy 9 Mosaicism. Her family eagerly awaited her arrival and with joyful expectation, but her lungs were too tiny to sustain her and her little body just had too much to overcome. She was instantly healed and her body made whole as she was welcomed into heaven at 11:31 p.m.

She is survived by her big brothers Dustin and Hayden Reid; paternal grandparents Glin and Candi Reid of Haleyville, Alabama; maternal grandparents Loren and Abby Burton of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma and Cary Darr of Rush Springs, Oklahoma; great-grandparents Jim and the late Juanita Lozier of Seminole, Oklahoma, Gary and Kelly Darr of Mineral Wells, Texas, Tom and JoAnn Anson of Tecumseh, Oklahoma; great-great-grandma Sissy Bailey of Fairview, Texas and many aunts, uncles, cousins, special loved ones and friends.

Viewing for Evelynn will be at Ferguson Funeral Home Sunday, March 8th from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.

The family would like to extend special thanks to the staff of UNC at Chapel Hill, Debra Null, Luke and Sarah Short, Brathen and Mikayla Anderson, Stephanie Langlois and the Molly Maid family, The U.S. Marine Corps Command 2nd Battalion 10th Regiment and Master Sergeant Jason Mann.

Interment at Fairlawn Cemetery will be under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
