A graveside funeral service for Eva Darlene Fikes, 86, of Chickasha, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 18, 2024 in the Fairlawn Cemetery, located in Chickasha, Oklahoma with Reverend Daniel Edwards officiating.
Eva Darlene Fikes was born June 5, 1937 in Alice, Texas to Harry Mandel and Bessie Marie (LouAllen) Mandel. She passed from this life on Thursday, January 11, 2024 in Chickasha, Oklahoma.
Eva grew up in Mason Texas and at a young age she came into the foster care of Anna Kay Martin her mother figure. She married R. L. Fikes and to their union two daughters Patricia and Sharon were born.
She worked for a commissary at Fort Sill for many years, Dunn’s Grocery store and Homeland Grocery store.
She was called “Eva the Deva” because she was a fashionista, she loved dressing nice and she liked all the cool clothes that her grandkids loved.
She was preceded in death by both biological parents and her foster mother Anna Kay Martin, her daughter Sharon King, grandson Cory Wainscott, brothers Melvin Mandel and Harry Mandel, and great-granddaughter Kaitlyn Murray.
Loved ones left to remember her are her daughters Patricia Parker of Broken Arrow, Brenda “Suzy” Caruso of Arizona, son Gene Wainscott of San Antonio, her granddaughters Jodie Finley of Lindsay and Alicia Murray of Broken Arrow, Candice Wilson of Chickasha, grandsons Monte Forester of Chickasha, Christopher King of Blanchard, Tommy Parker of Broken Arrow, Brad Wainscott of Texas, Russell Gregory and granddaughter Kristen Caruso Jones of Arizona; great-grandchildren, TJ Parker, Ezekiel Parker, McKenzie Gonzales, Acen Murray, Samson Murray, Draven Murray, Jaden Skinner, Kegan Wilson, Ryder Skinner, Lacy Forester and Cobrin Forester; and great-great grandchildren Leah and Liam Parker and other extended family and friends.
There will be no viewing. The service will be under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
