Graveside services for Ethel Glass, 92, of Chickasha, formerly of Cement, will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, December 22, 2020 in the Cement Cemetery with Mark Carpenter officiating.
Ethel F. (Simmons) Glass was born on June 28, 1928 in Cement, Oklahoma to Floyd S. Simmons and Lena Maude (Compton) Simmons. She died Friday, December 18, 2020 in Chickasha, Oklahoma.
Ethel grew up in the Cement area, attending Cottonwood school and Cement High School.
On September 7, 1946, she married Lonnie Ray Glass in Chickasha. She was a homemaker all of her life, raising her boys and making their house a home.
Ethel enjoyed bowling, working on genealogy, playing cards with her friends Pat, Altha, Fannie and Donna. She also liked sewing, crocheting, gardening, fishing, country music, and horseracing. She loved traveling with her nieces Betty, Mae, and Cleo, and other family and friends. She also enjoyed attending her grandchildren’s school and sporting events.
She was preceded in death by both parents, husband Lonnie Glass, son Jimmy “Darrel” Glass, infant brother Darrell Lee Simmons, brothers Lewis Simmons and Carel Simmons.
Survivors include her sons Lonnie Wayne Glass and his wife Sharon of Oklahoma City and Danny Glass and his wife Karen of Cement; daughter-in-law, Donna Glass of Cement; grandchildren Damon and Robin Glass, Brandon Glass, Jason Glass, Matthew Glass and Travis and Felicia Glass; great-grandchildren Daxton, Brant, Sky and husband Chris, Trevor, Dylan, Faryn, Hannah G., Hannah A., Kash, Presley, Heavyn, Kamryn, Lonnie and Layla; great-great-grandchildren Kaylee, Kennedy and Chandler; sister Shirley Mize and Loetta Beach; brother David Simmons; several nieces and nephews; and other extended family and friends.
Services are under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
