Ernest E. “Ernie” Sheltry Jr., 74, resident of Oklahoma for 32 years died on March 11, 2021 at his home in Ninnekah, Oklahoma.
He was born in Middlesex, Massachusetts. Son of the late Ernest and Gloria Sheltry.
Ernie had several occupations over the years, such as training and breeding quarter horses and ranching. He was on the board of the American Quarter Horse Association and owned and operated Rose Ridge Ranch.
Ernie enjoyed many hobbies. Riding motorcycles, showing horses and like his father, he enjoyed owning many vehicles. Ernie loved spending time with family and attending church. Another one of his passions was music and traveling with many famous musicians.
He will be missed and lovingly remembered by Shirley Lukasiuk of the home. Sister, Linda Sheltry; Daughter, Holly Johnson and husband Allen Johnson; Son, Daryl Sheltry and wife Mandy; Son, Jared Sheltry and wife Vanessa; Daughter, Caitlin Sheltry and son, Tyler Sheltry. 5 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his memorial service, Saturday, March 27, 2021 at the Fellowship of American Indians. 1217 Frisco Avenue Chickasha, Ok at 11am.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Fellowship of American Indians at 1217 Frisco Avenue Chickasha, Oklahoma 73018.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
