Graveside funeral services will be held for Elsworth A. Giles, 80, of Chickasha at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 25, 2011, in the Fairlawn Cemetery with Kim Hayes officiating.
Elsworth A. Giles was born September 20, 1930, in New Boston, Texas, the son of Everett and Martle (White) Giles. He died on Sunday, August 21, 2011, in Chickasha.
Smokey lived and worked in New Boston, Texas, until he moved to Chickasha to the Shanoan Springs Residence in 2007. He has done a lot of farm work as well as being employed in construction as a brick layer’s helper. He worked for many years for Mr. Lyles who gave him the nickname of “Smokey” that everyone knows him as today.
He was preceded in death by: both parents; four brothers, Homer Rosevelt, Ruden Giles, Raymond Giles, and William Giles; two sisters, Eulla Lawrence and Florence Alexander.
Survivors include: one brother, Richard Giles and wife Faye of Chickasha; two sisters, Lilly Faye Westbrooks of Livingston, Texas, and Marie Bolt of Oklahoma City; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Services are under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
