Services to celebrate the life of Elmer Lee Kuntz, 84, of Chickasha, Oklahoma will be at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, February 18, 2017 at Bible Baptist Church, Chickasha, Oklahoma, with Rev. Kim Hayes. Graveside service will follow at the Highland Cemetery, Lawton, Oklahoma.

Elmer Lee Kuntz was born December 25, 1932, south of Apache, Oklahoma, and left this world to be with his Savior on February 15, 2017.

Elmer graduated from Cyril High School in 1951. Elmer married Freda Petty on June 7, 1952 at First Baptist Church in Cement. Elmer served in the U.S. Army for two years active duty and for six years reserve duty. Elmer received his B.S. degree in animal husbandry from Midwestern University in 1955, his M. Ed. degree in agricultural education from Texas A&M University in 1964 and his Ph. D. degree in educational administration from Texas A&M University in 1968. Elmer was an educator and administrator serving as superintendent of public schools and president of community colleges for most of his working life and touched the lives of many students and faculty. Elmer was active in Rotary, and was active in several Baptist churches of which he was a member. He married Barbara Rhoads on November 15, 2011.

He was preceded in death by wife, Freda Mae (Petty) Kuntz, and parents Lula M. and Henry J. Kuntz.

Survivors include: wife, Barbara Rhoads Kuntz, Chickasha; daughter, Leisha Renee (Kuntz) Terry and her son David Patrick Terry, his wife, Brittany, and infant son, Mason Lee Terry, of South Carolina; son, Gregory Brent Kuntz, his wife Amy and two children, Seth Gordon Kuntz and Rachel Alexandra Kuntz, of South Carolina; two brothers, Robert Kuntz and his wife, Lorina, of Gilroy, California, and their three sons and daughter and families. Berry Ted Kuntz and his wife, Linda of Stillwater, Oklahoma, and their two sons and families; and cousin, Royce Meacham and wife, Dee, of Ninnekah; and other extended family and friends.

Interment will follow the service at the Highland Cemetery, Lawton, Oklahoma, under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Bible Baptist Church in Chickasha.
