A visitation and graveside service for Ella Marie Lavallee, 93, will be held at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Lawton on Saturday, April 6, 2019. The visitation will begin at 12:00 in the Chapel of Serenity at Sunset Memorial Gardens followed by a brief graveside service at 2:00.
Ella Marie (Kotch) Lavallee was born on December 3, 1925 in Chattanooga, Oklahoma, the daughter of Susie Phillips Kotch and John Allen Kotch. Marie passed away on Monday, April 1, 2019 in Lawton, Oklahoma.
Marie was raised in Lawton and graduated from Lawton High School. An avid swing dancer, Marie met Gene Lavallee at a USO Club sponsored dance and the couple married on July 23, 1949.
Married for 64 years, Marie and Gene spent the majority of their married life in Lawton, but lived for several years in Lubbock, Texas and Syracuse, New York.
A kind and gentle person, Marie was a wonderful mother to her 3 children. An accomplished seamstress and watercolor artist early in her life, Marie also brought her aesthetic sensibilities to her home and her amazing flower garden.
Marie was preceded in death by both of her parents, her husband, Gene, and sisters, Ruth Graham of Modesto, California, Johnnie Scoggins of Fort Worth, Texas, Alice Welch of Lawton, Oklahoma, and Gertrude Hall of Flagstaff, Arizona.
Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Eugene and Liz Lavallee of Kingston, Albert and Connie Lavallee of Lawton, daughter, Linda Lavallee of Louisville, Kentucky. Marie’s grandchildren are Jeffrey Lavallee, Mark Lavallee, Donovan Lavallee, Amy Dellova, Amber Yvonne Beck-Lavallee, Kaylee Martinez and 6 great-grandchildren, Tristen, Genevieve, Jason, Chloe, Alexis, and Avery, as well as beloved nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
Services are under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
