Funeral services for Elizabeth Justine Bump, 88, of Frisco, Texas, formerly of Chickasha, will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, May 9, 2014 in the Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel with Ezell Nelson officiating.
Elizabeth Justine Bump was born August 20, 1925 in Chattanooga, Tennessee to Timon M. and Betsy A. (Rhodes) Burks. She died Thursday, May 1, 2014 in Frisco, Texas.
Elizabeth, known as Justine, grew up in Oklahoma. She met Charles Ray Bump and married him April 10, 1944 in Pawhuska, Oklahoma. They moved to New Mexico in 1947 and lived there the majority of their lives together. They moved back to Oklahoma in 1990. After Charles passed away, Justine moved to Dallas in 2005 to be close to her family.
She enjoyed sewing and was a gifted seamstress. Justine continued to sew into her later years and made clothes for her great-grandchildren. While living in Chickasha, she was a member of New Life Christian Church and she would ‘hang out’ with her friends, they were known as the Widow Wagon. She deeply loved her family, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, three brothers, and one sister.
Survivors include her son, Alan Bump of Kemp, Texas; daughter, Diana Herndon of The Colony, Texas; sister, Doris Holloway of Oklahoma City; brother, Wayne Burks of Chickasha; five grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren; as well as many extended family and friends.
Interment will be in Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
