Eldred Ray Jones was born in April 1, 1940 in Rush Springs Oklahoma, the son of William Earl Jones and Helen Pierce. He passed from this life on March 24, 2023 in Rush Springs, Oklahoma.
On May 10 th , 1962, Eldred married the love of his life, Besty Ann Jones. They were married for 57 years. In this union they build a legacy near Amber, Oklahoma with their three children Mary, Rodney and Marla.
Eldred worked for a local mobile home company for many years as an assembler then moving his way up to a manager. He would soon realize he did not like bossing people around and decided being a manager was not for him. In the early 90’s, Eldred and Ann moved to Farmington, Arkansas to be closer to their oldest daughter Mary and her children. He started truck driving for Tyson Foods in the Swine Division.
After Mary’s passing in 1992, they raised their three grandchildren Kimberly, Amanda and Brittany. Eldred was no doubt a worker. He provided an amazing life for his children and grandchildren.
After many years living in Farmington, they moved back to Eldred’s hometown of Rush Springs, Oklahoma. Eldred drove for J.B. Hunt for many years until he transferred to the Teppco Crude Oil where he finally retired.
Eldred was a great man. In Ann’s last year of life, he compassionately cared for her every need. He was loving and care. An amazing man to say the least. He spent the remainder of his life chasing great-grandchildren to sporting events across the state and pouring every ounce of himself into his family. Eldred was very involved in his grandchildren’s and great-grandchildren’s lives and loved having them close.
He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He will be missed greatly.
He was preceded in death by his parents: William and Helen Jones; his daughters, Mary Helen Cooper, Ronda Bartholomew and Becky; his son Rodney Ray Jones; and granddaughter, Lissa Woody, Summer and Kristi Winchester.
