Funeral services for Dorothy Louise Jolley, 94, of Blanchard, will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, December 10, 2021 in the Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Russell Cheek officiating and Tanner Jolley assisting.
Dorothy Louise Jolley was born June 13, 1927 in Central, Oklahoma to Richard Eli Richardson and Allie Rebecca (Henry) Richardson. She died on December 7, 2021 at home in Blanchard.
Dorothy grew up in Marlow and attended Marlow school, then finished her schooling in Amber. She then worked for a brief time at Chickasha Laundry before her marriage to LeRoy Manual Jolley in November 1946.
She was a homemaker for the rest of her life, raising her son Terry and helping with the farm for a time. She loved art and drawing, and was a skilled seamstress. She enjoyed her family and friends and helped others whenever she could. She also loved reading her Bible and was a member of Amber Mission Holiness Church back when the church was east of town. She and LeRoy helped build and establish the new church building in town.
Dorothy was preceded in death by both parents, her husband LeRoy Jolley, sisters Allie Ruth Peterman and Mary Belle Cheatwood, brothers Tom Richardson and Ben Richardson.
Survivors are her son and daughter-in-law Terry and Virginia Jolley of Blanchard; grandsons Doug Jolley and wife Tabatha of Blanchard and Chris Jolley and wife Bre of Blanchard; great-grandchildren Tylee, Tanner, Trenton, Matthew, Karmen, Chris and Luke; great-great grandchildren Berkliegh, Boone and Caliber; and other extended family and friends.
Interment will be in Rose Hill Cemetery under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
