Graveside services for Dorotha Elaine Jordan, 72, of Chickasha, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 14, 2022 in the Fairlawn Cemetery with Reverend Paul Knight officiating.
Dorotha Elaine (Patterson) Jordan was born on December 31, 1949 in Sulphur, Oklahoma to Douglas Leo Patterson and Marcella Elizabeth (Peak) Patterson. She passed away Tuesday, May 10, 2022 surrounded by her loved ones.
Dorotha’s father was in the Army stationed in Panama, Colorado, Wisconsin, Germany, Barstow and Santa Monica, California, so the family moved around quite a bit but they had begun their life in Sulphur, Oklahoma and came back there again in 1965.
On January 9, 1968, she married the love of her life Sidney Louis Jordan in San Antonio, Texas where he was stationed with the Air Force. They shared over 50 years together until his death in August 2018. With Sid’s military service they lived in Texas, Florida and Oklahoma, settling in Chickasha in 1986.
Dorotha worked as a CNA for many years, as a young lady and then later at Shanoan Springs Nursing Center. Before she retired, she enjoyed working as the Activities Director at Shanoan Springs for a long time.
She was a collector of many things, bells, angels, but mostly rocks from all over and welcomed from anyone that would bring her one. She was a wonderful and caring person who put others over herself. She had an onery streak and liked to pester her loved ones. She cherished her grandchildren and wanted the best for them.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Sid Jordan, nephew Brian Jordan, grandparents Isacc and Vera Peak and Henry and Sallie Patterson.
Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Cindy and Billy Childers and Dana and Tim Skinner, all of Chickasha; grandchildren, Chris Childers, Kailee Childers, Carter Skinner, and Seth Skinner, and his wife, Haley, all of Chickasha; great-grandchildren, Jayden, Ryder, and Preslee Skinner and Saylor Ingraham; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Bob and Debbie Jordan of Bethel; brother, Mikel Patterson and wife Karen of Holdenville, sister Donna Webb of Sulphur; niece Leah Rumbo and husband Billy; nephews Eric Webb and Quinton Webb; great-nieces Emily and Ali Rumbo; great nephew Billy Rumbo, Jr.; and other extended family and friends.
The family will receive friends at a visitation from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Friday, May 13, 2022 at Ferguson Funeral Home.
Services are under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
