Graveside services for Donald Wayne White, 81, of Chickasha, will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 3, 2016, in Fairlawn Cemetery with Kim Hayes officiating.
Donald Wayne White was born December 6, 1934 in Stilwell, Oklahoma, the son of Davis Earl White and Cora May (Johnson) White. He died at his home in Chickasha, Oklahoma on April 29, 2016.
He graduated from Stilwell High School in 1951. After graduation he worked on the KSR Railroad for one year and then he went to work for Stilwell Trucking Company until 1956 at which time he was drafted into the United States Army. While in the Army he worked as a supply sergeant until 1961.
On March 1, 1961 he married Ida Nell Ingram in Stilwell, Oklahoma. Ida brought into this union the blessing of five children, Leon, Bill, Rob, Ayuneta, and Tsianina “Nina”. Together they had one daughter, Kora Jodon White, born in 1969.
They also lived in Hinton and Lookeba. In 1974 the family moved to Chickasha, Oklahoma where he went to work for the OSU Research Station after which he worked for Delta Faucet and then as a machinist at H&B Machine until his retirement in 2008. Throughout his life, he had also worked at various other jobs, and he had also served as the mayor of Lookeba.
He was preceded in death by his wife, both parents, one sister, Bartha White, and grandson, Aaron Mitchell.
He is survived by three daughters; Jodon Wynn of Chickasha and Ayuneta Ruark of Tuttle and Tsianina “Nina” Bayne of Noble; three sons; Leon Glenn of Mustang, Bill Whitmire and his wife, Jeannie, of Hinton and Rob Whitmire and his wife, Shelly of Hinton; sixteen grandchildren and numerous great- grandchildren and extended family and friends.
Services and interment are under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
