Funeral services for Donald “Larry” Weedn, 72, of Cement, will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, April 30, 2021 at Grand Assembly of God Church with Gary Rogers officiating and Kevin Quinones assisting.

Donald “Larry” Weedn was born May 21, 1948 at the Weedn Hospital in Duncan, Oklahoma, the son of Donald Clarence Weedn and Reba Rilla (Ikard) Weedn. He died Tuesday, April 27, 2021 in Chickasha, Oklahoma.

Larry grew up and attended school in Cyril, Oklahoma. He worked farming from a young age, helping his dad or making some extra money. He worked in the oilfield and on the pipeline for a time. He was then a heavy equipment operator for Caddo County District 2 and was said to be the best backhoe operator around.

He married Carolyn Sue Bruer and to this union his children Shane, Jason and Amy were born.

Larry loved fishing so much that one time he quit one of his oilfield jobs when the fish were biting. He was a diehard Dale Earnhardt fan and loved racing. He was a good farmer and an excellent gardener. He was a very giving and generous person.

On August 9, 1998, he married Paula Tims and they had 22 years together.

He was preceded in death by both parents and his brother-in-law Ron Shelton.

Survivors include his wife, Paula of the home; children and their spouses Shane and Randi Weedn of Verden, Jason and Betty Weedn of Chickasha, Amy and Daniel Faulkinberry of Chickasha, and Joanie and Heath McDonald of Ninnekah; sisters Sharon Simmons of Chickasha and Donita Shelton of Lawton; brother John David Weedn of Lawton; grandchildren Cory Weedn, Hayden McDonald, Clayton Walker, Braydn Weedn, Doltn Weedn, Ava McDonald, Emily Himes and Tessa Weedn; and other extended family and friends.

Interment will be in Cement Cemetery under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
