Funeral services for Deborah Black McKinney, 57, of Chickasha will be held Thursday, March 13, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in the Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel with Robert and Sharon Shelton officiating.
Deborah Black McKinney was born May 12, 1956 in Long Beach, California to Gordon and Mary (Decker) Black. She passed away at her home Friday, March 7, 2014 surrounded by her family and friends.
Deborah grew up in Norco, California living a rural country life. She attended Corona Senior High School in Corona, California.
On November 22, 1975, Deborah married Bill McKinney in Las Vegas, Nevada, and they made their home in Southern California.
They moved to Roff, Oklahoma in 1981 due to Bill’s job relocation. Deborah managed a Circle K and was a homemaker during this time. In 1998, the family moved to Chickasha, where Deborah worked at Walmart for a time.
Through the years, they enjoyed visiting unique honeymoon cabins across the United States. Deborah also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, listening to Gospel music, studying the Bible, and she loved her dog, Dude.
She was preceded in death by both parents and one brother, John Black.
Survivors include her husband, Bill McKinney, of Chickasha; son and daughter-in-law Robert and Becky McKinney of Moore; daughter, Melissa Lane of Chickasha; daughters and sons-in-law, Tricia and AJ Cooper of Cyril, Mia and Tommy Owens of Sulphur; daughter, Marci Raymond of Arlington, Texas; brothers and sister-in-law, Donnie and Dana Black of Roff, and Michael Black of Chickasha; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild; as well as many extended family and friends.
Interment will be in Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
