Funeral services for David Owens, Jr., 58, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 13, 2018 in the Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel with Darlene Armstrong officiating.
David Owens, Jr. was born September 26, 1959 in Chickasha, Oklahoma to David Owens, Sr. and Norliasha (Taylor) Owens.
He was the eldest of six children; David went to elementary school and graduation from high school in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
David Owens, Jr. better know as Slow Motion was a welder by trade and worked at WW Steel in Oklahoma City for a short period of time. (David) Slow Motion loved to shoot pool and dice and perfected both games. Motion was also smooth on his feet; a very good dancer his favorite song of the 80’s was Casanova by Gerald Leveret.
Motion (David) had a love for cars, playing domino’s and spades. David was also a casual dresser he could iron a pair of jeans and make them stand by themselves. David Owens Jr. a father who loved his baby girl, a brother who would do anything for his brothers and a friend who would down his life for you; if he had your back you could count on him.
Preceded in death both parents David Sr. and Norliasha Owens; his sister Kascina D. Owens, His brother Eric D. Owens.
He leaves to cherish his memories his daughter, Kascina whom he called little mama, two grandchildren DeMeko and D’Abriond Walton, one sister Norliasha K. Owens (California) two maternal brothers Cedric R. Owens (Oklahoma) and Destan L. Owens (New York) and one paternal brother Donald Sledge (Texas).
Eight step children DeNeco, Rahaasawn, Mantreece, Tymeira, Myeisha, and Choyah Durham (Oklahoma City), and Dominque and Champagne King (Agra Oklahoma). A host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Interment will be in Fairlawn Cemetery, Chickasha, Oklahoma under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
