Funeral Services for David “Grizz” Turner, of Cement, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 5, 2021 at Grand Assembly of God Church with Gary Rogers officiating and Johnny Wray assisting.
David “Grizz” Turner was born October 31, 1955 in Chickasha, Oklahoma to Jack Turner and Margaret (Brown) Turner. He passed away Tuesday, February 2, 2021 at his home in Cement, Oklahoma.
Grizz grew up in the Chickasha and Verden area and graduated from Verden High School in 1974.
After high school he went to work with his dad, building houses, barns, farm fences and steel buildings. He was a welder by trade, retiring from construction in 2013. He then went to work for a few years at KSW Oilfield Supply, until his health began to fail him.
On March 14, 1998, he married the love of his life Cheryl (Loman) Williams and they were blessed with being together 25 years.
Grizz lived in the Chickasha area all of his life. He enjoyed fishing and was an avid deer hunter and trapper, even trapping for the wildlife department. Everyone knew Grizz and he was loved by all, never meeting a stranger.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jack Turner and his brother Chesley Lee Turner.
Survivors are his wife Cheryl Turner of the home; daughters Stacy Patterson and Cassie Turner; sons Cory Williams and Chase Williams; grandchildren Jayden Patterson, Jolanea Clawson, Riddik Copeland, Maci Williams, Charlee Williams and Trendon Williams; mother Margaret (Brown) Turner; brother Earl Turner; and other extended family and friends.
The family would like to thank Lifeline for their service and care for David and also extend their appreciation to all their family and friends for the many texts, calls and visits.
Interment will be in Laverty Cemetery under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
