David Benjamin Wentz, 35, died peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on December 23rd, 2019.
Funeral Service will be held at 1:00pm Friday, December 27th, 2019 in the First Christian Church in Chickasha with Rev. Michael Oberlender officiating.
David was born in Chickasha, Oklahoma on September 28, 1984. He was dedicated in the First Christian Church in Chickasha and was raised in Chickasha First Church of the Nazarene. He attended Chickasha Public Schools, graduating in 2003. All who knew David knew that he had a brilliant mind with a passion for learning. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in History at Southern Nazarene University before attending the University of Oklahoma Law School, where he achieved his Juris Doctor.
David was a generous and kind friend, son, brother, and husband. David was an expert conversationalist and always open to debate. His openness to new people and ideas helped forge his countless relationships throughout his life. He never met a stranger and made a new, lasting friendship every time he left his house.
David met his wife, Jackie, whom he loved deeply, in 2010 and his life was changed forever. They were married in April of 2016 and loved one another profoundly through their years together.
He was preceded in death by his father, Steve Wentz, grandparents, Jack and Carol Wentz, and cousin, Jonathan Wentz.
Survivors include his wife, Jackie Teague Wentz, his parents, Laurie and Phil Elzo, mother and father-in-law Nancy and Gary Teague, brother Christopher Wentz, sisters Katie Dickey (Ben), Kara Trahan (Aaron), sister-in-law Hannah Teague (Kyler Hallmark), grandparents Ron and Judy Orr, aunts and uncles, James and Tina Wentz, Merry and Scott Stone, Amy and Fred Howell, Scott and Kendra Orr, cousins Christin Wentz, Emily Hemphill, Weston Stone, Jackson Stone, Nick Hart, Molly Brantley (Ben), Maddy Howell, and Kennedy Orr, and two nieces and three nephews.
David chose to live his life with a positive outlook, focusing on love and kindness to guide his way. All those who knew David are better for it; he made a shining bright impact on all those he encountered in his life.

For I am still confident of this. I will see the goodness of the Lord in the Land of the Living. Wait for the Lord; be strong, and take heart and wait for the Lord.
Interment will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home. There will not be a viewing at the funeral home or service.
