David Alan Terry was born on August 24, 1952 in Alex, Oklahoma. He died March 25, 2024 at Integris Hospice House in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
David was the youngest of three children born by his mother and father, Joyce and Tip Terry, who lived in Alex, Oklahoma. He lived and went to grade school in Alex, Oklahoma. His family moved to Orange County, California later on in his childhood, and he graduated from Marina High School, Huntington Beach, California.
He joined the U. S. Army at the age of 18 and served in combat in Vietnam. He served two years and returned home to Huntington Beach, California, severely injured by his service to our Country. He was honored with a Purple Heart for his courage in serving in front-line combat in the Army. He saved some of his fellow servicemen’s lives via tank rescue crew.
He later returned with his family to Chickasha, Oklahoma and worked with his father and grandfather in a family-owned small carpentry business as a painter. He will be remembered as a beloved hero of this war and a beloved grandson, son, brother, uncle and cousin of his family.
David was preceded in death by his mother and father, Tip and Joyce Terry, and his sister, Lana Jo Allen.
He is survived by Kathy Guillet, his older sister who lives in Chickasha, Oklahoma, and Lissa Guillet, a niece, who lives in Duvall, Washington.
There will be no public services for David. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
