Darryle Lee Santiago Phillips, age 78, passed away on the evening of April 17th, 2024 in Dallas, TX.

She was born in Pahala, Hawaii to Josephine (Louis) and Edward Santiago on November 27th, 1945.

She attended and graduated from Kamehameha Schools as part of the class of 1963. Her education continued when she attended nursing school and became a nurse, working at various hospitals including Grady Memorial in Chickasha, Oklahoma where she would eventually settle for a number of years.

Later she became a truck driver and worked in the trucking industry with her husband at the time, before retiring due to health issues.

Darryle enjoyed watching movies, playing mahjong, going on little adventures, and was also a crocheter and cross-stitcher in her younger years. She was an avid reader and not often seen without a book nearby. She loved her family, including the various pets that blessed her life.

Darryle is preceded in death by her daughter Natalie Talbert, parents Josephine and Edward Santiago, brother Dougless Santiago, and brother-in-law Ray Okinishi.

Darryle is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Scot and Vivien Phillips, son-in-law Jeff Talbert, granddaughter and grandson-in-law Jamie-Lynn and Kris Karlsson, grandson Brendan Phillips, granddaughter Savannah Phillips, former husband James Phillips, sister Dale Okinishi, brother and sister-in-law Dennis and Jane Santiago, brother and sister-in-law Duane and Doris Santiago, and an assortment of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
