Funeral services for Darin Emmett Placke, 53, of Midwest City, will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, March 17, 2017 in the Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel.

Darin Emmett Placke was born on July 31, 1963 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, the son of Denzil Eugene Placke and Carmelita Neon (Wardlaw) Placke. He died on March 13, 2017 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Darin grew up and attended school in Del City, graduating from Del City High School in 1982. He then attended Oscar Rose College and a local business college.

He worked as a manager for Valero Petroleum Company.

He and his spouse, Darrin Jay Thompson were together 23 years, and were married the last two years, which took place on April 20, 2015 in Nicoma Park, Oklahoma.

Darin loved to bowl and was involved in many bowling leagues. He loved to crochet and enjoyed watching reality TV, including “Survivor”, “The Bachelor” and “The Bachelorette”, and “The Real Housewives”. Darin was a collector of Marilyn Monroe memorabilia. He loved to go to and throw parties and was the life of the party. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by both parents, two sisters, Denise (Placke) Heitman and Jeannie (Placke) Beaver, and one brother, Derek Placke.

He will be deeply missed by his husband, Darrin Thompson, of the home; son, Daniel Thompson of Owasso; daughters and sons, Elizabeth Thompson, Ezra Thompson, Emily Thompson, Elias Thompson, and Emelia Thompson, all of the home; other extended family and friends.

Interment will be in Fairlawn Cemetery in Chickasha, Oklahoma under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
