Graveside services for Dale Adron Holden, 80, of Chickasha will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 28, 2018 in Pioneer Cemetery.
Dale Adron Holden was born April 30, 1938 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, the son of Walt Holden and Mary Ethel (Luttrell) Holden. He died on Sunday, June 24, 2018 in Chickasha, Oklahoma.
Dale attended and graduated from Rush Springs High School. He joined the United States Navy in 1956 and served several years. He worked as a machinist then joined the US National Guard and transferred to the US Army Reserves, retiring as a Staff Administrator. Dale most recently had worked for the Washita Valley Community Action Council weatherizing houses.
On September 7, 1972, he married Dewilla Sue Wilson and they were married almost 46 years.
Dale had served many years in the Cornerstone Church and was an active worker in the soup kitchen and the church maintenance. He also taught Sunday School class until the church closed in September 2016. He was currently attending Michigan Avenue Baptist Church.
He enjoyed fishing and camping and was a member of the Chickasha Elks Lodge for many years. Dale liked to watch baseball and the OU Sooners. He coached and umpired Little League for his sons and grandsons. He loved his kids and grandkids.
Dale was preceded in death by both parents and two sisters, Ruth McClendon and Mary Sue Walker.
Survivors include his wife, Dewilla Holden, of the home; sons and daughters-in-law, Derald Ray and Debbie Holden of Blanchard, Rodney Dale and Laura Holden of Chickasha, and J.P. and Jatone Franklin of Dibble; daughter and son-in-law, Kelley and Dana Schulz of Sun City, California; daughter-in-law, Ginger Holden Clanton; eleven grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren; and other extended family and friends.
Family visitation to receive friends will be Wednesday, June 27th at Ferguson Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Michigan Avenue Baptist Church, 728 W. Michigan Ave., Chickasha, OK 73018.
Services and interment will be in Pioneer Cemetery under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
