Funeral services for Cynthia Ann Owen-Beaver, 47, of Oklahoma City, previously of Chickasha, will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, March 20, 2017 in the Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel.

Cynthia Ann Owen-Beaver was born on December 3, 1969 to Russell Clinton Owen and Georgiann (Davis) Owen in Chickasha, Oklahoma. She passed away on March 15, 2017 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at Integris Baptist Hospital surrounded by her family and friends.

Cynthia grew up in Chickasha and graduated from Chickasha High School where she had played basketball and was a leader in Future Business Leaders of America. As a teenager she was a member of Holy Name Catholic Church and active in the youth group.

She then attended OU and graduated with a Bachelor of Business Information degree. She went to work for the FAA for a few years. She was then employed with American Fidelity Assurance Company, where she worked hard and became a software engineer. She was with American Fidelity until the time of her death and through them had worked with United Way, volunteering and tutoring children.

On October 9, 2015, Cynthia married her longtime love, Kris Beaver, in Oklahoma City. They were together 13 years.

Cynthia liked to watch TV, especially “Law and Order,” enjoyed OU Football, and going to the casino. She enjoyed tracing genealogy, and listening and documenting stories told to her by “Grandad.” She loved children and enjoyed spending time with family. Her dad always called her by “Sweet”, that was his special name for her.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, mother, and boxer dogs, Ruby and Lulu.

Survivors are her husband, Kris, of the home; father, Russell Owen, of Chickasha; aunts and uncles, Dorothy Jones, Sharon Judd, Linda Harris, Terry Davis, Larry George Davis, Harrison Owen, Clara Mae Idleman, and Frankie Nielsen; stepsons, Kayleb Beaver and Trystyn Beaver; mother-in-law, Amma Lois Beaver, of Mangum; brother-in-law and his wife, who was Cynthia’s longtime friend, John and Charlotte Beaver, of Edmond; grandfather-in-law, Harold Parker “Grandad”, also of Mangum; longtime friend, Amy Chamberlain; special friends from American Fidelity, LeighAnn Gilkey, Margo Juergens, and Reni Daniel; many cousins and other extended family and friends.

Interment will be in the Antioch Cemetery located in Antioch, Oklahoma under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
