Funeral services for Connie Louise Duncan, 67, of Chickasha, will be held 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, December 28, 2017 in the Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel.
Connie Louise (Byrum) Duncan was born June 1, 1950 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of Noel Byrum and Marie (Spears) Byrum. She died Thursday, December 21, 2017 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Connie grew up in Chickasha and graduated from Chickasha High School in 1967.
She married Danny Reed and her son, Edric, was born to this union. Connie then married Bill Criss and to this marriage her son, Chris, was born. Later she married W.R. Duncan and his children, William and Debra, became a part of her family.
In her younger years she worked as a caregiver for local families and in home health. In her most recent years, Connie received several awards for her volunteer work with the Washita Valley Headstart and Grand Avenue School as a “grandma”, helping children with their reading.
She enjoyed watching westerns and loved crafting. Connie was very creative and had recently made props and helped haunt for the Chickasha Haunted Warehouse.
Connie was preceded in death by both parents and her good friend, Jan Watts.
Survivors include her sons and daughter-in-law, Edric Reed, Chris and Wendy Criss, all of Chickasha; step-children, William Duncan and Debra Duncan, also of Chickasha; sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Dave R. Bennett, of Ninnekah; brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth W. and Susan Byrum, of Harrah; a younger biological sister, Carol Ann Carroll; grandchildren, Bethany Gobert and Misty McGrew; several great-grandchildren; and other extended family and friends.
Interment will be in Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
