A funeral service for Clyde Gene White, 82, of Chickasha, will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, September 5, 2023 at Grand Assembly of God Church with Charlie Brown and Kevin Quinones officiating.
Clyde Gene White was born June 17, 1941 in Bowlegs, Oklahoma, the son of Elmer Willow White and Hazel Mildred (Owens) White. He went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 30, 2023 in Chickasha, Oklahoma.
Clyde attended and graduated from Cement Schools, he then went to Cameron University for two years and Central State University for a year.
On April 7, 1962, he married Bernice Simmons and had a blessed life together until her passing in 2005. At the end of her life, Bernice had a long battle with ALS and Clyde became her caregiver, nursing her with great love and dedication during that time.
He had worked as a manager for C.R. Anthony Company for 26 years and managed property rentals. Clyde and Bernice owned the Ranchwood Motel in Rush Springs for 17 years, and they used the motel as an outreach to tell others about the Lord, hosting Bible Studies, prayer meetings and have fellowships there.
Later, on September 24, 2011, he married Kay Elliott Weyneth, during those 12 years, they loved each other and shared their lives. They enjoyed traveling, attending church, and spending time together with their families. They welcomed many additions to the families during their years together.
He accepted the Lord at a young age and his first calling was his devotion to the Lord. He loved God with all his heart and loved sharing his testimony wherever he went and with everyone. He was very caring, loving and had a generous soul. He liked to fish, hunt and loved being with his family. He got a kick out of telling dad/grandpa jokes and making up his own jokes. He liked taking care of people and left a legacy of helping people in need, getting them on their feet physically and spiritually. He had a beautiful voice and sang at 18 weddings and one funeral.
He was preceded in death by his wife Bernice and his parents Elmer and Hazel White.
