A graveside service for Clyde Donald Hare will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, December 9, 2024 in Fairlawn Cemetery with Pastor Joseph Woods officiating.
Clyde Donald Hare was born April 18, 1937, in Oklahoma City, OK to John Odis Hare and Ella Bell Hare. He grew up with one younger brother, Bill. He passed from this life on Wednesday, December 4, 2024 at his home in Chickasha surrounded by his loved ones.
From an early age, Clyde was destined to spend his life working pipeline construction. As an adolescent, he would go out with his father to learn the trade. By 14 years old, he was working full-time, and by 16 he was supervising crews. At 17, his work would take him to the small northern town of Gonvick, MN, where he met the love of his life, Margaret Jean Erie.
They married in August 1954 and soon embarked on a lifetime of traveling and living across the United States (and Canada). They had one son, Larry, and one daughter, Kathryn. In 1970, they settled in Chickasha, OK, and built their forever home.
They started their own business: Hare Pipeline Construction, which Clyde and Margaret operated until he retired. They were rarely apart during their 69 years of marriage, and nothing made them happier than hosting family gatherings and hearing stories about their grandkids.
Clyde’s favorite hobby was traveling in their RV with Margaret to visit family and fish at the lake on their beloved boat. His prized possessions included a blue 1999 Ford F-250 and his many John Deere tractors. He and Margaret attended Parkview Christian Church and loved their church family.
Clyde was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret, earlier this year. They are survived by their son Larry Hare (Kasi), daughter Kathryn Shedd (Bill), five grandkids: Misty (Joe), Jeffrey (Katie), Brandon (Quinna), Daniel (Jennifer), and Rachel, and six great grandkids: Anthony, Alex, Jackson, Ella, Landon, and Emmett.
A viewing for Clyde will be held at Ferguson Funeral Home on Sunday, December 8 th from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Interment will be under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
