Funeral services for Cindy (Franks) Philpott, 63, of Seminole, formerly of Chickasha, will be at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 10, 2021 at the First Christian Church in Chickasha with Reverend Michael Oberlender officiating.

Cindy Marie Franks was born on October 28, 1957 in Chickasha, Oklahoma the daughter of Hershel Eugene Franks and Wilma Leon (Mooney) Franks. She died on Saturday, February 6, 2021 at her home in Seminole, Oklahoma.

Cindy grew up in the Chickasha area and graduated from Chickasha High School in 1975. She then enlisted in the United States Army.

She met James Butler while in the military and to their marriage her four children were born.

After her military service ended in 1979, she was a stay-at-home mom for many years raising her children while they were young. She then started attending college and received her Bachelor’s Degree in Education. She was an elementary school teacher here in Chickasha for over ten years, teaching at Lincoln and then Southwest under the names Mrs. Butler and Mrs. Clouse. She then worked for a time at First National Bank and at Walmart. Around that time, Cindy also became a foster parent until she began to have health problems which forced her to retire.

On September 30, 2019, she married David Philpott in Wewoka, Oklahoma. They only had this short time together, but she loved to take rides on their Harley trike, seeing the countryside.

Cindy liked crafting, crocheting and sewing. She also liked to read, loved spending time with her grandbabies and enjoyed her fur-babies and granddogs.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, including her Grandma Mooney with whom she had a special bond; her mother Wilma Franks; and her mother-in-law Lou Tippin.

Survivors include her husband David Philpott of the home; father Hershel Franks of Chickasha; children Kathleen Butler-Ausborn and husband Paul of Mustang, Jamie Butler and Shaun Harris of Wellston, Jonathan Butler of Chickasha and Jeffery Butler and wife LaRay of Cement; step-children David Philpott II and wife Dawn of Royal, Arkansas,  Timmothy Philpott of Kansas City, Kansas, Samantha Philpott of Wichita, Kansas and Joseph Philpott of Kansas City, Kansas; siblings Debra Hood and Jerry Smith of Pocasset, Connie Turner of Cement and Darla Brandt of Blanchard; grandchildren Rhiannon Quillin, Makayla Butler-Moore and husband Christopher Moore, Alyssa Butler, Jared Butler, Wyatt Butler, Harlee Butler, Justin Raper, Keegan Ausborn, Austin Philpott, Chandel Fagan, Matt Philpott, Nathan Philpott, Jasmyne Philpott, Danielle Philpott and Damiana Brown; and other extended family and friends.

Interment will be in Laverty Cemetery, southwest of Chickasha, under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
