Private family services will be held for Christa Jones, 82, of Chickasha.
Christa Jones was born October 15, 1934 in Hindenburg, Germany to Anton Broja and Hedwig Sasworka Walczk. She died on January 5, 2017 in Chickasha, Oklahoma.
She grew up in war time Poland and later fled to Germany with her family. She met her husband Roy Jones, Jr. in Giessen, Germany where he was stationed with the United States Army and they were married in December of 1953.
Roy and Christa later moved to the United States. They were stationed in various locations during his time in the military which included Vermont and Colorado and after his military service, they settled in Chickasha where Roy’s family lived.
Christa loved traveling, dancing and watching Lawrence Welk.
She was preceded in death by both parents, her husband, Roy, and one brother.
Christa is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Patsy Jones and Folkert deJong of the Netherlands; son Roy Jones of Colorado; granddaughters Cindy and Stacy of Colorado and a great-granddaughter Navy.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
