Private family services for Dan Taylor, 75, of Chickasha, will be held at a later date.
Chester Daniel Taylor was born on May 11, 1941 in Springfield, Missouri, the son of Vilasco and Frances Taylor. He passed away at his home in Chickasha on November 20, 2016.
Dan grew up in Derby and Wichita, Kansas. After graduating from Derby High School in Derby, Kansas, he started working for Otasco. During his 23 years of employment with Otasco, he worked in Wichita, Hutchinson and Ottawa, Kansas; Ponca City, Oklahoma; and Springfield, Missouri. He won many sales awards and trips while working for them. In 1983, he began selling insurance, until his retirement in 2001.
On September 27, 1963, Dan married Elsie Marilyn Tanner. He and Marilyn were married for 54 years.
Dan enjoyed playing snooker and cards. He loved to make people laugh by telling jokes and he had a real quick wit, you had to know him personally to know that about him, as he really was very reserved. He said exactly what he meant, never a white lie for him to tell. He worked all through high school, so he never had time for sports, and needless to say, he didn’t have to watch them like most men.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents; both parents; in-laws, Bob and Elsie Tanner; brother-in-laws, J.L. Rogers and Robert Tanner; sister-in-law, Nona Taylor; and nephews, Kary Lathrop and Andrew Tanner.
Dan is survived by his wife, Marilyn, of the home; one son, Dennis Denner; grandson, Stuart Denner; twin brother and sister-in-law, Frank and Susan Taylor; sister-in-law, Jo Etta Rogers; nephews, Jeff, Todd and Corey Taylor and families, Quint and Nathan Rogers and families, Ron and Derek Tanner and families and Kirk Lathrop and families; niece, Emily Tanner; and other extended family and friends.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
