Charles Leland Krone, known to all as Charley, of Chickasha, will have a private burial at Fairlawn Cemetery. He was born on October 17, 1949 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Orville and Dorothy (Clanton) Krone. He passed from this life surrounded by his family on Monday, June 3, 2024 in Chickasha, Oklahoma.
Charley grew up in Sparks and Yukon. He entered the United States Army in 1967, serving until 1971. He became trained and certified as a diesel mechanic in the Army and he served in Vietnam.
The love of his life was Kalenda Moore and they shared many years and many memories together.
Charley spent his life driving a truck and over the years he hauled sand or drove a cement truck for Sand Express and drove flatbed trailers. The family remember many trips taking with Charles as he drove to New Mexico, Florida and Mexico.
He loved to spend any time off he had with his kids and grandkids. He liked to go fishing with the grandkids. He looked forward to holidays, like July 4 th and Christmas, and family events, such as cookouts, birthdays and anniversaries.
Charley was preceded in death by both parents, a son Oscar Moore, and a granddaughter Katelyn Lynn Krone.
Loved one left to remember him are his wife Kalenda of the home; children Cherry Krone of Chickasha, Orville Krone and fiancée Christian of Chickasha, and Tobby Moore of Chickasha; sister Nancy Krone of Yukon; grandchildren Austin Moore, Zachary Terrell, Charles Krone, Cammie Moore, Orville Krone, Jr., Kaden Krone, Blake Terrell, Jacob Terrell, Hailey Terrell, and Aiden Johnson; a great-granddaughter on the way, Milani Terrell, that Charley was looking forward to meeting; nieces and nephews and other extended family and friends.
The interment will be in Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
