Funeral services for Charles “Chuck” Pearcy, 65, of Chickasha, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 1, 2014 in the Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel with Lewis Cox officiating.
Charles “Chuck” Pearcy was born January 30, 1949 in Chickasha, the son of Robert A. Pearcy and Mildred Lorraine (Venable) Pearcy. He died Thursday, June 26, 2014 in Chickasha.
Chuck grew up and attended school in Chickasha. Right after graduating from Chickasha High School, he joined the U.S. Marines. He served a tour in Vietnam, received a Purple Heart Medal, and was honorable discharged in the late 1960’s.
On November 24, 1970, Chuck married Brenda Settle in Wichita Falls, Texas and they had two children, Tasha and Jeff.
He was employed at Goodyear and Hart Manufacturing for a time, and then went into the oilfield in the early 1970’s. Employed by Parker, Grace, and Unit Drilling Companies, he worked his way up from a fieldhand to a toolpusher, retiring in 2010.
Chuck enjoyed camping, being outdoors, and watching NASCAR. He was a member of the Chickasha Elks Lodge # 2125.
He was preceded in death by both parents; wife, Brenda in 2010; brother, Bobby Pearcy; and step-father, H.R. “Buddy” Franks.
Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Tasha and Tony Ellis; son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Nancy Pearcy; five grandsons, Tristan Pearcy, Seth Levy, Preston Levy, Colby Pearcy, and Wyatt Pearcy; sisters Trenda Hughes and Thaylia Zurline; brothers, Jim and Dick Pearcy; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Derrell and Cora Settle; as well as extended family and friends.
Interment will be in Spring Creek Cemetery, north of Gracemont, under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
