Funeral services for Catherine Rose Howard, 65, of Chickasha will be held Monday, March 17, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at the Chickasha Nursing Center, 2701 S. 9 th Street, with Cord Fowler officiating.
Catherine Rose Howard was born February 19, 1949 in Velma, Oklahoma, the daughter of Ervin LeRoy Whidden and Virginia Whidden. She died Thursday, March 13, 2014 in Chickasha. She grew up and attended school in Velma, graduating from the Velma High School.
In the early 1970’s, Catherine married Roger Howard and to this union her son, Ervin Howard was born.
Catherine was a homemaker her entire life, and was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Duncan. She enjoyed fishing, crocheting, and her favorite times of the year were the holidays. She especially loved spending time with her family and spending time with her grandchildren.
Catherine was preceded in death by both her parents and a sister, Darlene Rose Taylor.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Ervin and Debbie Howard of Comanche; sister Karen Taylor of Louisville, Kentucky; brother, Steve Matzek of Louisville, Kentucky; and two grandsons, Colton and Joel Howard.
Interment will be in the old Velma Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home of Chickasha.
