Graveside services for Catherine ‘Cathy’ Charline Moore, 88, of Burlington Junction, Missouri will be held at Ohio Cemetery Saturday, October 11, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. with Terry Robison officiating.
Catherine ‘Cathy’ Charline Moore was born on October 9, 1925 in a rural home near Burlington Junction, Missouri to Charley Ervin Bears and Bernie Mabel (Headrick) Bears. She passed away on Tuesday, October 7, 2014 in Chickasha, Oklahoma.
Cathy was raised in rural Burlington Junction. She attended Eudora Country School and worked at home until her marriage. She married Taul Amos Moore on September 4, 1942 in Rock Port, Missouri. They farmed near Burlington Junction until moving to Oakland, Iowa, where their youngest child was born. After ten years they returned to Burlington Junction, where they stayed about four years. They lived in Quitman for a while, and then moved to Maryville until Taul’s death in 1997. Cathy then moved back to Burlington Junction.
Cathy was a nurse’s aide at St. Francis Hospital, retiring after 23 years.
She enjoyed her craft work, quilting and embroidery, as well as other projects.
Cathy was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Taul; sister, Helen Elliott; granddaughter, Gayla Deutsch; and one great-grandson, Ronnie Moore.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Ronald and Carol Moore of California; daughter, Connie Stock of Greeley, Colorado; daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Marvin Shipley of Chickasha, Oklahoma; son, Ervin Moore of Oakland, Iowa; son, Wayne Moore of Des Moines, Iowa; son and daughter-in-law, David and Rene Moore of Little Rock, Wyoming; son and daughter-in-law, Dean and Esther Moore of Chanute, Kansas; as well as extended family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations to be made to the First Christian Church of Burlington Junction, 211 E. 3 rd St., Burlington Junction, Missouri 64428.
Interment will be at Ohio Cemetery in Burlington Junction, Misssouri under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home in Chickasha, Oklahoma.
