A funeral service for Carol Jeanne Fait Woods, 93, of Chickasha, will be held on Saturday, January 28, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. in the Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Kim Hayes officiating.
Carol Woods was born February 26, 1929 in Verden, Grady County, Oklahoma and was the daughter of Veda Carol West Fait and Howard Eugene Fait, her adopted father. She went to be with the Lord on January 21, 2023 at her home in Chickasha, Oklahoma.
Carol married William Hardy Woods September 2, 1949. William before they married, picked her up in an old milk truck and drove her to school. Carol and William had three children, Sherry Jean Woods Brown, Teresa Ann Woods Robison, and William Michael Woods.
Carol is a graduate of Anadarko High School. She graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree from Oklahoma College for Women. She loved children and taught for Chickasha Public Schools at Northwest Elementary School. She was a dedicated and loving mother and wife. In addition to teaching, she helped William on the farm and lovingly cared for her Mother-in-Law, Eva Woods, for many years. She also, took care of her mother in later years as well as her Uncle Russel Fait.
Carol was an accomplished pianist and organist. She played for the First Presbyterian Church in Anadarko. the Methodist Church in Verden where she and William attended, and later the First Presbyterian Church in Chickasha. She continued to play the piano her mother bought her when she was 14 years old to near the end of her life. She loved to play “How Great Thou Art”, “Sweet Hour of Prayer”, “Love Lifted Me”, and many other hymns. One of her favorite songs to sing was “It’s a Good Day” and she was still singing the second verse,
“Yes, it’s a good day for shining your shoes
And it’s a good day for losing the blues;
Everything to gain and nothing’ to lose
A good day from morning’ till night”

Carol Jeanne Woods precedes her husband, William Hardy Woods in death. Also surviving are her children, Sherry Jeanne Brown and husband, Dr. Michael Adrian Brown, Teresa Ann Robison and husband Rodney Wayne Robison, and Dr. William Michael Woods and wife, Dr. Sue Woods. Preceding Carol in death is grandson, Brian Robison. She leaves behind eight grandchildren, Dr. Daniel Brown, David Brown, Michelle Romberg, Lacey Robison, Timothy Robison, Chris Woods, Dr. William Woods, and Dr. Clifton Woods, and fifteen great-grandchildren.
Viewing will be Friday, January 27, from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Interment will be in Fairlawn Cemetery, Chickasha, Oklahoma under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
