Funeral services for Carol Forrest Sites, 80, of Chickasha, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 22, 2024, at the Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel. Carol passed away on Thursday, May 16, 2024, in Chickasha, Oklahoma.
Born on September 24, 1943, in Jackson Heights, Queens, New York, Carol graduated from Mary Fuller Frazier High School in Perryopolis, Pennsylvania, in 1961 and from Robert Morris Business School in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, in 1962. She worked part-time as a carhop at Randall’s Barbecue and as a model.
After graduation, Carol worked as a secretary for the US Navy Personnel Department in Arlington, Virginia. On June 11, 1966, she married Omar Allen Sites in Perryopolis. They were married 53 years, living in Scotland, Virginia, Florida, and the Philippines during Omar’s Navy service. In 1977, Omar retired from the Navy, and they settled in Chickasha, Oklahoma.
In Chickasha, Carol worked for Pool Martin Insurance Agency, became Vice President at First Federal Savings & Loan, and later worked at USAO.
Carol was preceded in death by her husband, Omar Allen Sites, her parents, Robert McMorran Forrest and Imogene Augusta Carson, and her brother, Robert Carson Forrest.
She is survived by her daughter, Laura Jean Miller and her husband Michael Ludwig Miller of Chickasha; her son, Omar Angus Sites and his wife Trisha Lynn Sites of Spring, Texas; her grandson, Carson James Sites, of Spring; and her sister, Sharon Forrest Quigley of Stone Mountain, Georgia.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Carol’s honor may be made to the USAO Foundation, 1727 W. Alabama, Chickasha, OK 73018.
Interment will be held in Fort Sill National Cemetery in Elgin, Oklahoma at a later date. Services and cremation arrangements are under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
