Memorial services will be held for Callie Dee Pettus, 94, of Chickasha at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, November 18, 2011, in the Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel with Kim Hayes officiating.
Callie Dee Pettus was born on August 4, 1917, in Bernice, Oklahoma, the daughter of Charles and Callie Sanders Hitchcock. She died on Sunday, November 13, 2011, at home in Chickasha.
Callie grew up in southeastern Oklahoma. She married the love of her life and husband of sixty years, Bill Lynn Pettus, on February 3, 1937, in Atoka, Oklahoma. Callie devoted herself to making a loving home for their four children.
Because of Bill’s work in the oil field, they lived in several locations in Oklahoma, Texas, Louisiana and California over the years. They moved to Chickasha from Cushing, Oklahoma in 1970. After his retirement in 1982, they enjoyed travelling. Callie especially enjoyed their trips to Las Vegas.
Callie was a member of the Parkview Christian Church. She enjoyed shopping and loved spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by: both parents; husband, Bill Pettus in August of 1997; one son, Bill Pettus; and one daughter, Carolyn Rattliff.
Survivors include: two daughters, Nataleen Hawthorne of Chickasha and Sue Wolfe and husband Harold of Celina, Ohio; one son-in-law, Gene Rattliff of Adair, Oklahoma; one daughter-in-law, Sharon Pettus of Cushing, Oklahoma; eleven grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.
Interment will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery in Chickasha under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
