Funeral services for Bufford “Orvil” Luther, 62, of Chickasha, will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, August 8, 2022 in the Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Kim Hayes officiating.
Bufford Orvil Luther was born January 29, 1960 in St. Louis, Missouri to Marion W. Luther and Elzie M. (McKee) Luther. He passed from this life on Saturday, July 30, 2022 at his home in Chickasha, Oklahoma.
Orvil grew up in Chickasha as one of ten children and graduated from the Corpus Christie Youth Corp. He enlisted in the United States Army and served his country for two years.
Buying, fixing and reselling cars was his main hobby. He loved anything to do with cars and made that his career. He was an auto mechanic and car salesman.
Orvil was preceded in death by both parents, sisters Winnie Mae Necker and Linda Brewer; and brothers Carl Luther and Clyde Luther; best friend Gidget Wise and godson Curtis Joe Wise Jr.
Survivors include his godchildren Cassey Wise, Terry Wise and Robert Wise; granddaughter Tianna Walker, Kaylee Firebaugh and Eric Firebaugh; sisters Kay Hildabrand, Liddie Cope, Reta Luther and Mary Ann Davis and husband Bob; brother Bill Luther and wife Betty; best friend Curtis Wise, Sr; many nieces and nephews and other extended family and friends.
Viewing will be Sunday, August 7 th from 1:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
Services and cremation arrangements are under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
