A viewing for Bruce Allen Bedoka, 63, of Chickasha, will be held at Ferguson Funeral Home on Friday, May 21, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. . There will be a memorial service at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 28, 2021 in the Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel..
Bruce Allen Bedoka was born October 2, 1957 in Anadarko, Oklahoma to Louis “Buddy” Bedoka and Marlene Renee (O’Donley) Bedoka. He died Monday, May 17, 2021 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Bruce grew up in Anadarko and graduated from Anadarko High School in 1975. That same year, Bruce was on the baseball and basketball teams that won state championships. He then attended USAO, where he met lifelong friends.
He married LaFonda Boggess and to this union his two children, Cacy and Jake were born.
Bruce worked as a meter reader for Arkla Gas for over 20 years. He then worked overnight at Walmart for 15 years. Throughout all his years, he would D.J. proms, weddings and other events in the local and surrounding communities.
He enjoyed sports and loved watching and playing baseball. His favorite teams were the Drovers, Sooners and the Yankees. He attended his kid’s sporting events, even intentionally working the overnight shift at Walmart to make sure he was available. He never met a stranger. Bruce had a great singing voice and liked to sing Karaoke. He was a history buff and loved trivia.
Bruce was preceded in death by his father, Louis “Buddy” Bedoka.
Survivors include his mother Marlene Bedoka of Anadarko; children and their spouses Cacy and Noel Merrifield of Yukon and Jake and Savannah Bedoka of Newcastle; grandchildren Saylor, Beckett, Avery and Jensyn; sisters and brothers-in-law Karen and Kenny Nelson of Midwest City and Kay and Kevin Urquhart of Charlotte, North Carolina; and other extended family and friends.
Following the viewing, the cremation arrangements are under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
