Funeral services for Brent Alan Layton, 59, of Pocasset, will be held at 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, October 26, 2022, at the Erin Springs Baptist Church, Lindsay, Oklahoma with Pastor Clay Hicks officiating.
Brent Alan Layton was born on October 28, 1962 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma, the son of Waymon Lorn Layton and Dyanthia Gayle (Pettigrew) Chiles. He died at his home in Pocasset, Oklahoma on Sunday, October 23, 2022.
Brent grew up in Lindsay and attended Lindsay Public Schools. He was a member of Future Farmers of America. After graduating Lindsay High School in 1981, he worked in the oilfield and was a pipeliner. He attended computer school where he received certificates in several computer classes. He enjoyed working on and building computers.
Brent loved playing the guitar and the passion in his life was collecting guitars, over the years he had collected many. He was a huge fan of the Oklahoma Sooners. He also loved race cars and fast motorcycles, which he also collected.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Dyan Chiles and step-father Bill Chiles, grandparents John and Geneva Pettigrew and Jack and Mable Layton; uncle Jackie Layton and aunt and uncle Nona and Joe Gardner.
He is survived by his father Waymon Lorn “W.L.” Layton of Lindsay; brother Brian Layton and his wife Kelly, of Pocasset; nephew Brayden Layton and wife Brittany and great-nephew Lane Layton, all of Tuttle; niece McKenzie Layton of Pocasset; special friend Stacy Brown of Chickasha; uncles, Johnny Pettigrew, and his wife, Terri, of Yukon and Clifford Layton and wife Maxine of Claremore; aunt Sheilla Munger of Oklahoma City; and other extended family and friends.
