Bobby Royce Sons, a long-time resident of Chickasha, Oklahoma passed from this life on September 27, 2021 at the age of 85.
His memorial service will be held at the Grand Assembly of God Church of Chickasha, OK at 11:00 am on Tuesday, October 12, 2021.
Bobby was born outside of Madill, Oklahoma on December 8, 1935 to Annie Juanita (Story) Sons and George Leslie Sons. He worked in the oilfield throughout most of his adult life in the areas around Pauls Valley, Hennessey, Enid, Kingfisher and Chickasha. He formed Rebel Tank Company in Chickasha in the mid 70’s which he operated until the late 1980’s. In more recent years he battled a severe COPD condition along with other serious medical issues which finally ended his life.
Bobby was preceded in death by his father, mother, and daughter, Echo Rochelle Kopp.
He is survived by one brother, Douglas Holman Sons, and his wife, Mary of Tulsa; three children, Shannon Waken of Oklahoma City, Tracy Sons of Dallas and Jana Webb of Moore; six grandchildren, Kelly Kopp, Rachael Kopp, Israel Kopp, Bethany Hicks, Sam Waken and Anna Waken; great grandchildren; his niece Lesli Duncan, nephew Casey Sons; great nieces and nephews and close friends Patsy Newmann and Jeff Cofer of Chickasha. He will be greatly missed by family and friends.
Services and cremation arrangements are under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Royal Rangers of the Grand Assembly of God Church of Chickasha is encouraged.
