Funeral Services for Billy Wayne Childers, Sr., 67, of Chickasha will be held Wednesday, December 14, 2011, at 10:30 a.m. in the Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel in Chickasha with Jerry Auld officiating.

Billy Wayne Childers was born November 29, 1944, in Porterville, California, the son of William Thomas Childers and Mildred Nadine Cummings Childers.  He passed away Friday December 9, 2011, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Growing up Billy and his family lived in and around Prague, Oklahoma and for short periods of times lived in California, New Mexico and Arizona, but always returning home to Oklahoma.

Billy married Joy Chandler of Chickasha in 1964. In 1966 he was drafted into the Army and stationed in Stuttgart, Germany. After completing his time in the Army, he settled in the Chickasha area making his living in residential construction as an electrician and carpenter.

Hobbies included hunting, fishing and telling stories to his grandkids.

He was preceded in death by both parents; previous wife, Joy Childers Spencer; two brothers, Ronald D. Childers and Darrell Gene Childers; and one sister, Patricia Ann Childers.

Survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Billy and Cindy Childers of Chickasha; one daughter, Lorrie Glass of Blanchard; four grandkids, Heather Glass, Zackery Glass, Christopher Childers, and Kailee Childers; one brother, Dave Childers of Chickasha; and two step-brothers, Kenneth Childers of Burleson, TX, and Timothy Childers of Meridian, TX.

Interment will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
