Funeral services for Beulah “Faye” Tibbetts, 83, of Chickasha, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, January 18, 2019 in the Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Pat Kennedy officiating.
Beulah “Faye” (Trotter) Tibbetts was born February 24, 1935 in Chickasha, Oklahoma, the daughter of Leo Trotter and Ethel (Bennett) Trotter. She passed away Monday, January 14, 2019 in Chickasha, Oklahoma.
Faye spent her whole life in Chickasha and attended Chickasha Public Schools.
She waitressed for a time at Charlie’s Restaurant, where she met the love of her life, Ellsworth James “Jimmie” Tibbetts, Jr. On August 28, 1952, they were married here in Chickasha and had 50 years together, until his death in 2002.
Faye was a private care babysitter and has an extended family of those children she raised. In the mid 1970’s, she went to work for American Optical and retired from there after 20 years.
She liked crafting, crocheting and knitting. Faye and Jimmie would make wood Christmas yard ornaments that were well known in the community. She was in a bowling league and an active member of the First Presbyterian Church for many years, taking kids to summer camps and volunteering for the food pantry. Faye was an active member of The Woodmen of the World Society. She was a great cook and one of the best chocolate chip cookie makers, giving cookies to firemen, mailmen, lawn workers, and many others. She was a loving mother to her family and a friend to many.
Faye was preceded in death by both parents; her husband Jimmie Tibbetts, Jr.; six brothers Earl, Eugene, Clifford, Owen, James and Sidney Trotter; and two sisters Mary Foreman and Edith Dobry.
Survivors include her sons Jim Tibbetts and wife Lana of Chickasha, Geary Tibbetts and wife Tammy of Duncan, Mark Tibbetts and wife Kathy of Ninnekah; daughter Brenda Tyler of Chickasha; brother Bobby Trotter and wife Joyce of Longmont, Colorado; grandchildren Adam Tibbetts and wife Brooke, Price Tibbetts, Kristen (Tibbetts) Eden and husband Brian, Kacy Tibbetts and wife Amanda, Tanner Tibbetts and wife Anne, Logan Tibbetts, Brandon Tyler, and Brian Tyler; great-grandchildren Amiya Tibbetts, Ethan and Madison Eden, Tillie, Hattie, and Branson Tibbetts and Miles Tyler; as well as numerous nieces and nephews and one special niece Faye Ella Dooty; and other extended family and friends.
The family will hold a visitation to receive friends at Ferguson Funeral Home on Thursday, January 17th from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Interment will be in Rose Hill Cemetery under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
