A graveside service for Betty Lou Crittenden, 94, of Chickasha will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, January 10, 2025 at Fairlawn Cemetery.
Betty Lou (Thompson) Crittenden was born November 8, 1930 in Enid, Oklahoma to Roy Alvin Thompson and Georgia Emma (Keplinger) Thompson. She passed from this life on January 7, 2025 in Chickasha, Oklahoma.
Betty’s grandparents had been part of the Land Run in 1889 and she grew up in Enid and graduated from Enid High School in 1949.
On June 18, 1949, she married William “Bill” Crittenden and they shared 71 years together until his death in 2020.
They moved to Chickasha to be closer to Betty’s parents. Betty was by Bill’s side as he started his plumbing company in Chickasha and they owned the business in this community for over 54 years. Betty was a homemaker and had many talents. She made pottery and loved her gardening. She was a Pink Lady at Grady Memorial Hospital for several years.
Betty was preceded in death by both parents, her husband Bill, and her sister Clara Elizabeth Thompson and her adopted son Theodule Lujane Jr.
Loved ones left to remember her are her son and daughter-in-law William “Patrick” and Wanda Crittenden; grandchildren Timothy S. Crittenden and Rebekah L Crittenden.
Viewing for Betty will be held Thursday, January 9 th from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
Interment will be in Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
