Funeral services for Betty L. Hughes, of Chickasha will be held Friday, March 14, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in the Ninnekah First Baptist Church with Brother Joe Day officiating.
Betty L. Hughes (Mom) passed away March 12, 2014 at the age of 88 years. She was born July 19, 1925 in Amarillo, Texas to Janie Bess Gary and Frank L. Webb. She married Joe F. Hughes on November 14, 1943.
Mom was loved by everyone who ever met her. She loved life and it was clear to all of those who had the privilege of knowing her. She loved to travel and she was an avid reader. She enjoyed sewing and baking cakes.
She was a member of First Baptist Church of Ninnekah, Busy Hands, and the Eastern Star.
Mom was preceded in death by her husband, her mother and father, one sister, Clydie Webb, one grandson, David Benson Hughes, and a granddaughter.
Mom is survived by her three children, Joe Frank Hughes and his wife, Mary Lou, of Amarillo, Texas, Janie Osborn of Ninnekah, and Jeff Hughes and his wife, Maxine of San Jose, New Mexico; eight grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. She has one brother, Gary Webb of Deer Creek, Texas; as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Interment will be in Ninnekah Cemetery under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
Mom will be dearly missed by all who knew her, but Heaven has been blessed with a true angel.
