Benjamin Heath Parr was born the son of Bradley Steven Parr and Kimra LeAnne (Lee) Parr on June 3, 1996 at Baptist Hospital in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He passed from this earthly life at the age of 18 on Saturday, July 26, 2014 at OU Medical Center, after being in a single car accident on Sunday, July 20, 2014. A celebration of his life will be held on Wednesday, July 30, 2014 at 1:30 p.m. at Bible Baptist Church in Chickasha, Oklahoma, Pastor Kim Hayes officiating.
Ben attended grade school through the 5 th grade at Ninnekah, Oklahoma. He transferred to Amber-Pocasset in the 6 th grade and had just graduated high school from Am-Po on May 22, 2014. Ben loved to play baseball, go fishing, play golf and hang out with his friends. He loved to pump iron and work outside. At the time of his death he was employed at Winter Creek Golf & Country Club working on the golf course.
Ben accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior when he was 7 years old, on the 7 th month on the 7 th day of the month. When asked by his mother on 7/7/14 what he was doing to grow spiritually he replied that he was praying more. He joins, in Heaven, his maternal great grandfather, Louie Walker, paternal grandfather, Riley Parr and paternal great-grandparents, Elmer and Ellav Parr and Charles and Jewel Askins.
Ben is survived by his parents, Brad and Kimra Parr of the home; sister and brother-in-law, Shantel and Scott Turner of Cement, Oklahoma. Maternal grandparents, Kenneth and Marjorie Lee of Ninnekah, Oklahoma, maternal great-grandmother, Juanita Walker of Ninnekah, Oklahoma, aunt and uncle Shelle and Michael Miller, cousins Nolan and Jake Miller of Chickasha, Oklahoma. Paternal grandmother, Faye George of Chickasha, Oklahoma , uncle and aunt Scott and Paula Parr of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and many other aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of friends; especially gratefully for his paternal great-uncle and great-aunt Donald and Sheryl West of Verden, Oklahoma.
The family is grateful to the Grady County Sheriff’s department, the Chickasha Fire Station, Chickasha EMS, Oklahoma Highway Patrol, Life Flight and everyone else who worked the accident scene and participated in Ben’s transfer to Oklahoma City; to the doctors and nurses at OU Medical Center; to all of these for the dedicated care of Ben while he was in each of their hands. We are also profoundly grateful for the spiritual comfort of our church family and friends; especially Pastor Kim Hayes and wife Shirley, Brother Dave Brinkman and wife Pam, Youth Pastor Michael Thompson and wife Lori, Pastor Steve Volante and Pastor Bill Patterson.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Benjamin H. Parr Support Trust at any Mid-First Bank.
Interment will be in Ninnekah Cemetery under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
