Funeral services will be held for Anne Fay Hopkins, 89, of Chickasha at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 11, 2012, in the Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Rockford Johnson officiating.
Anne Fay Hopkins was born in Rocky, Oklahoma, on February 10, 1923, to William Harry and Kittie (Glasscock) Wood. She died on Friday, April 6, 2012, in Oklahoma City.
Fay grew up in Rocky and graduated from Rocky High School in 1941. Following high school she attended Panhandle State University in Goodwell, Oklahoma, for several years. She married Varnell Hopkins on March 9, 1946, in Dodge City, Kansas. They spent 43 wonderful years together making a home before his death in March of 1989.
Fay went to work for Public Service Company of Oklahoma (PSO) in 1958, retiring in 1987. She was a member of the Epworth United Methodist Church in Chickasha.
She was preceded in death by: both parents; husband, Varnell Hopkins; sister, Mildred Wood; and two brothers, Nelson Wood and Dale Wood.
Survivors include: two sons, John Hopkins of Chickasha and Harold Hopkins & wife Dina of Verden; grandchildren, Justin Hopkins & wife Christal and Kari King both of Chickasha; one great-granddaughter, McKayla King of Chickasha; one brother, Bill Wood & wife Helen of Sentinel, Oklahoma; and nieces and nephews, Louis Wood, Lynn Wood and Kay Roberts.
Interment will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
